A spy image of the Proton Saga MC3 has surfaced once again, this time by Muhammad Shamim as posted to the paultan.org Automotive/Car discussion Facebook group.
This image of the national carmaker’s upcoming model appears to show that Proton has reworked the bootline of the sedan, here appearing to be longer than on the cars from previous sightings.
While prior spy images have not really offered an identical viewing angle such as this one, it would appear that the way the C-pillar meets the bootline is now less tapered, and wears a more pronounced kink for a more defined three-box shape, at least relative to the development car sighted in January.

From earlier spy images, concealment of the headlamps on the development car in April suggested that there will be major changes in this area, possibly to become the first Saga to be specified with LED headlamps. These will come as part of a comprehensive update along with a new front bumper, a larger grille, reshaped headlamps, a re-profiled bonnet, new tail lamps and a new boot lid.
The Saga MC3 has also been confirmed to get a suite of ADAS functions, as revealed through a partnership announcement between China’s Imotion Automotive Technology and Proton’s long-term vendor Delloyd Technology that is to “accelerate the development and adoption of ADAS [advanced driver assistance] systems for the AMA01.”
A new engine is in order for the Saga MC3, too, as the brand’s entry-level sedan could receive a new, all-aluminium unit from Geely’s powertrain division Aurobay, which is a close relation of the 1.5 litre turbocharged, direct-injection mill in the facelifted Proton X50.
